Unbreakable Promises

God cannot lie. It’s not His style, not part of His story. If God lied, He would no longer be God. We’ll never be able to be God, because we’re saddled with a few faults – one of which is that sometimes we can’t live and speak the whole truth.

It’s impossible for God, however, to already bend the truth just a little bit. If God says it is so, then that’s what will happen. God will make sure of that. We must remember that when God takes an oath by heaven and earth, it would ultimately come to an end, because the earth and the heavens are slowly but surely breaking down.

But God never ends. God doesn’t stop existing. God remains forever. That’s why the potential that He made to Abraham and his descendants, which are us, will keep for eternity. It’s unbreakable.

18-19We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go. It’s an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God…

This must be the foundation of our life here on earth. When we’re caught in a storm. When our plans don’t work out. When we cry out from the pain and hurt we’re experiencing.

When hardship hits us and knocks us down, we must remember these two truths that stand firm in any storm: God swore an oath by Himself. He will ensure that His promises are fulfilled in our lives. Because God Himself said so. Period!

So, keep up onto God’s potential: 18We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go.

Engrave it on your mind. This potential of God must be our strength, the fuel that powers us by life. It must put a skip in our step. It must flatten the mountains we confront.

It’s like a small boy who sits on his dad’s shoulders and then feels able to confront anything. Not because he is so big and good, but because his dad is big and good.

There’s no need to stress when you’re sitting in the doctor’s waiting room, because you know God will come by for you.

When your money doesn’t stretch to the end of the month, you can calmly go to God and ask Him to help you make plans. He will be there for you, because He promised.

When your child or spouse rebels and throw their toys out of the cot, you don’t have to become worked up too, because God has promised that He is there for you and will help you.

Are you afraid of the road that lies ahead? Here’s news for you. You don’t have to be afraid. Here is your encouragement. God promised that He will fulfill all His promises to you. keep up onto that with all your might and let it strength you by life.

Hebrews 6:18-20

What does your storm look like?
What does your faith look like?
Do you trust that God is with you?

Father, it’s not easy to always keep my eyes on You. So many times, I look at the storm and lose sight of You. Then things don’t go well. Please help me to keep up onto Your promises and keep my eyes only on You. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
